Brooklyn, NY rock band Parquet Courts are bringing their punk-influenced sound to Tampa on January 31st in support of their two albums released last year, Sunbathing Animal and Content Nausea.
Both albums were critically acclaimed, the latter of which was released under a pseudonym of the band called Parkay Quarts, which is primarily performed by members Andrew Savage and Austin Brown.
Parquet Courts will be visiting Florida for the first time in a few years, and at a peculiar venue, no less. The American Legion Hall in Tampa will host the show, with support from local rock band and recent 4AD signee, Merchandise.
This will be a great homecoming show for Merchandise, who are Tampa natives and have been one of the bay area’s biggest musical success in recent memory. The band took off in 2012 after glowing reviews for their sophomore LP Children of Desire, including a 7.8 Pitchfork review.
Gainsville psych rock trio Soda will round out the bill.
Doors will be at 8PM, with the show at 9PM. Let’s hope you all got your tickets, because the show is now sold out!
You can purchase a majority of Parquet Courts’ catalog via their label What’s You Rupture?
Merchandise’s major label debut album, After The End, is available to purchase via 4AD.
